Fires of Pompeii

Shortly after the beginning credits ran and I was squeeling over Karen Gillan being in the episode, my phone rang. It was my Daniel and his flight was canceled. He won't be coming home until this Tuesday. I almost didn't go back to watch the rest of the episode but figured if anything was going to make me feel better, it was going to be Doctor Who.
Donna was hitting me with those one-liners once again this episode. I got a funny feeling that she'll keep up this trend.
Donna and the Doctor are arguing whether they should interfere to get the people out of the city before the volcano erupts. The Doctor insists that he can't.
Donna: And you're in charge?
Doctor: TARDIS, Time Lord: yes!
Donna: Donna, human: no!!
Later the male soothsayer is woman bashing and Donna mumbled not-so-quietly: "I'll tell you where the wind is blowing now, mate." hahahha
Yay for cheap magic tricks to get little boys to do what you want! ...funny how something can sound right in your head...
Soothsayer: No men are allowed to enter the Temple of Sybil!
Doctor: That's fine! Just us girls! *foot kick*
HAHA Adorable...
Donna: [breathless] You fought her off! With a water pistol! I bloody love you!
We bloody love him, too.
And we make it to the near-end of the episode where Donna is in the TARDIS, tear-streaked face, begging the Doctor to just save one person from that city. If anyone doubted Catherine Tate's acting, I say re-watch this clip. Her face... my goodness. So heart-breaking. She looked like how I did after I got the news of Dan's canceled flight.
What an intense first trip for Donna! I'm surprised she didn't demand to be taken home after something like that... constantly arguing with the Doctor, having a horrific lesson in ethics and fixed times... =/ The good news? WE GET THE OOD IN THE NEXT EPISODE! Yay!
