Daleks in Manhattan & Evolution of the Daleks.

 I've been good about keeping series-relevant icons with my recaps... but I wanted to use my new icon. So there.
On to the recaps!!

Daleks in Manhattan

Very first reaction: Pig people? Laaaaame. Yeah, I don't have too many notes with this episode. I wasn't very impressed. I was intrigued how Daleks reproduced with humans then when the Dalek ate that one human. And the show girl musical number was cute. My only other note:

Doctor: [jumps in line with other people captured] Keep walking.
Martha: I am so glad to see you!
Doctor: Yeah, well, you can kiss me later. ...You, too, Frank.
YOU EFFIN' TEASE, DOCTOR. She never does take him up on his offer.

Any one else feel like the human/Dalek hybrid looked like just a weird cyclops with dicks hanging off its face? No? Just me with the mentality of a twelve year old? Okay, then, moving along.

Evolution of the Daleks

One of the first scenes, one Dalek asks another how it feels about human!Dalek and asks for its honest opinion. The other Dalek states that it does not feel like human!Dalek is fit to be a Dalek. Wait, wait, wait... back up here. Are the Daleks gossiping?! HAHAHA

The scene where you see all the humans that have been captured, ready to turn into human!Daleks...
it honestly kind of reminded me of a Sailor Moon SuperS movie scene:

 All the bits below the senshi are coffin-like containers where captured children have been put. Sure, it's underneath instead of over-head... I was just reminded of this scene and wanted to share, that's all. :)

Can someone remind me why the Doctor decided to help human!Dalek? My sister started to talk to me and I missed human!Dalek explaining to the Doctor what he wanted to do... and I was confused that suddenly (or so it seemed) that the Doctor was gung-ho about helping out his mortal enemy. But whatevs, the Doc has reasons.

N'aww... Martha/Doctor hug after being separated... then he ruins the moment with, "See? Never waste time in a hug." Bla bla bla, Doctor, you always save the day so no worried. Enjoy the snuggles. ...Oh my, am I a Martha/Doctor shipper? ...nah. I think I just like snuggles.

Daleks tell the pig people to use the "lift" to get up to the top floor of the Empire State Building. Uh, Daleks. You're in the States. Say "elevator."

Pig people are electrecuted before they can even get out of the elevator. And I briefly wondered if the room smelled like bacon...

The replicated human!Daleks (without the penis faces) really reminded me of Cybermen... care to tell me, aside from the outer armor, how they were different from Cybermen? They had guns, obeyed commands, and walked in unison... aside from, you know, that bit of Time Lord DNA and becoming defiant.

Martha: "Just proves it. There's someone for everyone."
Doctor: "Mm, maybe."
Again with the mixed signals! Wasn't he just inviting her to kiss him in the last episode? Ugh.

I really can't stand these episodes - which is a problem because I'm madly in love with Andrew Garfield (aka Frank). But for me, the plot is too illogical and Ten is at his worst here and the accents ust kill me and yeah... I really dislike these episodes.

Again with the mixed signals! Wasn't he just inviting her to kiss him in the last episode? Ugh.

*grins* You are defnitely not alone on the penis!face human Dalek thing. Also on thinking these episodes are a bit poor. It was horrible the first time through, going two weeks without properly enjoyable Who... There's some brilliant stuff later in the series to make up for it, though.

Oh, good. *phew!* Even my Dad was saying that he wasn't impressed with these episodes... I watched The Lazarus Experiment last night which was much better. I kept pausing the episode to write down quotes. haha
