Almost three weeks ago, PBS Masterpieces started to run Moffat and Gatis's Sherlock. Uncut, without commercials: Just the way it was intended. :) Dad and I watched it together. I found out not too long ago that he's a fan of the original Holmes. He really enjoyed this new adaptation which made me happy. :p They ran it quite late on PBS- starting around 9pm, I believe. I suppose it is more of a mature show...
Last week right before I was supposed to be heading off to work, I got something in the mail. Something very exciting in the mail: The Brilliant Book of Doctor Who 2010!! Anyone else would probably be like, "Oh, cool, it came," and move about their business. Me? I squeeled like a little piggy and positively giggled as I tore open the packaging. I was grinning from ear-to-ear. This is my first piece of Doctor Who merchandise I have ever purchased or came in personal possession of. So, quite exciting. I haven't even finished reading it yet! I'm not even half-way through and that's WITH pictures! I like to blame grad. school. Boo on you, grad. school. You take the fun out of everything.
After a suggestion by
myconstant that I see Party Animals, I have started to watch it on YouTube. I tried to find a legit way of watching it, such as Netflix or even ordering the DVDs but alas, I can only play region 1. Much of the bandwidth in my house has been taken up by my mother and eldest brother playing World of Warcraft so there were parts of episodes where it would take me nearly a day to watch. Just between buffering and me becoming extremely frustrated with the whole process. I'm about to start on episode 5 out of 8, I believe. Matt Smith is absolutely adorable in it. He's one of the only non-despicable characters in it, sadly. Well, it's about politics so maybe I should have suspected as much...
I found out that an old co-worker of mine has recently finished the 9th Doctor episodes, just like me! (I'm having deja vu, did I already post about this?) Long story short, we decided that we would watch the David Tennant episodes together, but that was about two weeks ago before I left for Italy. I posted something on my Facebook about no longer having blue carpeting in my house for the first time in 27 years and my friend replies, "Speaking of blue, when are we watching Doctor Who? I'm biting the bit over here." hahaha I like the way he thinks. :p I suggested this Sunday. Let's hope it goes through!
stick_poker was able to point me in the right direction to download the BBC audio of The Runaway Train. Matt Smith's voice lulling me to sleep last night was heaven. :p I remember when watching True Blood and finding out that Stephen Moyer was, in fact, British that Brits can do Southern accents really well. ...can't remember the reasoning behind it at the moment... I've only got up to track 6 out of 24 so I still have quite a ways to go. Again, I'd like to blame grad. school (okay, and my guilty conscious) for not letting me completely indulge in this small pleasure.
Speaking of self-control: After the guidance of
ladymercury_10 , I am attempting to reign in my impulses. I watched the spoiler clip of bloopers from the S5 Doctor Who DVD (found here) but have refrained from watching a clip of Matt Smith's video diary (found here) and reading about Meanwhile in the TARDIS details (found here). Gota have some surprises when the DVD comes next week, right?
