Plaid-Loving Amy or Dirty Amy?

"Never ignore a coincidence. Unless you're busy, then always ignore a coincidence."

I have no speculation as to what this may mean, just wanted to bring something to people's attention if they have not yet noticed this.

Last season we barely saw Amy wear the same shoes more than twice (oh, those cowboy boots), let alone complete outfits. Though I've noticed this season, even when other characters are changing their clothes, Amy is wearing the same two outfits. In The Impossibly Astronaut and now in the promo pictures/trailers for the upcoming two parter, she is wearing the red plaid top and the jean capris. In Day of the Moon she changed into the pink plaid top with skirt and kept it on for The Curse of the Black Spot and The Doctor's Wife. Sure, she'll add a jacket or change the color of her tights, but... Really? Even Rory is having more variability in his wardrobe.

And now, I bring you a picspam of Amy showing viewers out there how to pack lightly when traveling:

So... thoughts?

Huh... that is odd, especially since last season there was so much emphasis on her clothing (I dressed for Rio!)

Yes! I've heard theories of parallel universes (which would explain the eyepatch lady being a midwife and such), so maybe this factors into that?

[identity profile] tei-0.livejournal.com 2011-05-18 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Woah, that is an excellent theory of Eyepatch Lady!

[identity profile] tasty-kate.livejournal.com 2011-05-18 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
It's what I immediately thought of when the Eyepatch Lady said that everything was fine in CotBS. Some people have suggested that there are parallel universes that we're kind of being smushed up against (like in CotBS with the space ship and the pirate ship) and we're seeing snippets of the other universe. In the Eyepatch Lady universe, Amy is preggers. In the other universe, she is not. That's why the TARDIS can't figure out if she's pregnant or not.

And come to think of it, this show has been full of parallel universes lately... prisoner 0's, the ships, House's universe...

[identity profile] tasty-kate.livejournal.com 2011-05-18 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure if Prisoner Zero or House were of different universes. Prisoner Zero was just from another planet (where the Atraxi had it imprisoned) while House was *outside* of the universe. Like a tiny bubble next to a bigger bubble only not. :p

Ahaha! yes but... isn't that what a parallel universe is?

[identity profile] tasty-kate.livejournal.com 2011-05-18 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
No, it's not a universe at all. Parallel universe would be like what Rose is in-- potentially something *very* similar to ours with different twists; like in our world Jackie Tyler was alive and her husband was dead while in the parallel universe the reverse was true. This latest episode was the plughole of the universe. Still kind a part of ours, but not quite.
Heck, that little asteroid (if it still exists) may be the same in every single universe, parallel or not, as it is on the outside of the universe. Just a thought. :D

[identity profile] tei-0.livejournal.com 2011-05-18 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, I see what you mean. The theory of multiple cosmos that I like best is the one in which every universe that is mathematically possible, exists, which would make the bubble-place a real universe... um I've only ever encountered this theory in the context of SF but I'm pretty sure it is an actual theory, apparently Julian Barbour has written about it? IDK I'M NOT A PHYSICIST WHY DO I EVEN HAVE OPINIONS ON THIS.

HAHAHAHA JOIN THE REST OF US. :p

Weird! I noticed that her clothes all look alike, but I didn't notice it was literally the same two shirts over and over. I wonder if it means something?

[identity profile] tasty-kate.livejournal.com 2011-05-18 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe. Like I said to [livejournal.com profile] tei_0, I've heard theories of parallel universes, so maybe this is part of all that...?

[identity profile] ladymercury-10.livejournal.com 2011-05-18 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Doctor Who is going to break my brain. Lol.

[identity profile] tasty-kate.livejournal.com 2011-05-18 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's going to tear me in half when episode 7 comes along.

[identity profile] ladymercury-10.livejournal.com 2011-05-18 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
It's going to be terrible!

On the upside, there will probably be massive amounts of fic put out to tide us over. :)

[identity profile] tasty-kate.livejournal.com 2011-05-18 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Always see the silver lining, don't you? :)

Haha, not always.
