Maryland (pronounced "Mehrylland)

I go away for a weekend(ish) and this is what I come back to? Holy jeebus.

Most of it was reactions from the poll I posted, but still. Wow. Have never seen my inbox that full. NOT THAT I'M COMPLAINING.

This weekend away gave me a lot of time to process and think about AGMGTW. I think what mostly threw me was how I initially felt my ship was done for. I mean, it should have been "done for" for me after Amy and Rory got hitched when the universe was rebooted, but it wasn't. It had a level of "omg we shouldn't be doing this" but nothing unheard of. BUT THANKS TO THE LOVELY UNIVERSE OF DOCTOR WHO WHERE TIME TRAVEL IS READILY AVAILABLE, River Song being simultaneously Amy and Rory's child AND the Doctor's future lover sort of threw a wrench into my fannon ship.

So that's when I threw up the poll when my friend went to a seminar yesterday (I'll get to this). And thanks to all the lovely 20 some-odd people who commented, I feel like my ship has been rejuvenated. I needed this in order for me to continue with my chapter fic that I've been working on where there is major sexual tension and plans for more. I think I'll be giving a disclaimer about the time line when I post the next bit (you know, after I write it hahaha).

So. This weekend(ish). I purposely planned my trip to be after Saturday when the Doctor Who finale came out. GOTTA THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS. Thankfully my best friend Cathy, whom I was going to visit, is understanding. I went to her place down in Maryland (right outside DC) to dork it out like crazy. We watched the whole series of Escaflowne. It was one of those animes we watched when we were in Middle School/High School and hadn't watched since. So we weren't sure if we romanticized the greatness of the series or not in our teenage minds.

WE SO DIDN'T. We both loved it to bits and watched the whole damn thing within 8-9 hours, split between two nights. And then watched Megamind afterwards (which I also loved). And then the Escaflowne movie (which is rubbish, don't bother with it). Watching Escaflowne really made me ship the two titular characters, Hitomi and Van like whoa (WHICH IS CANNON AND CANNOT BE FUCKED WITH, SO TAKE THAT, MOFFAT!!!). I almost want to write fanfic about them. I even have an idea. WHERE AM I GOING WITH THIS??? I'm converting to anime!  hahaha sike, anime was always there So yeah, before I write, I think I wana seek some already written stuff first and see if there's still a fanbase for it. It was released in 1996, after all. If you're interested at all in seeing this, don't let the date dissuade you. The only thing that lets you know what decade it is is the pagers that are used instead of cell phones.

All in all, Kate is happy and had a good weekend(ish).

Yay for return follows and for the brain-scrambling influence of Doctor Who! :P
